Fall Protection Systems: An Urgent Requirement for Builders

The system has been designed to guard the workers on construction against fall hazards. The fall protection system is designed to protect workers falling from inconvenient heights. This is an urgent requirement in all construction industries to ensure the safety.

The following things must be within when underdone with the revered system:

Attachment Location

The legality expresses that the attachment of the body harness will be placed in the centre of the wearer's back. The location must be nearing the shoulder level or can be placed above the head too.

Body Harness

It requires the compulsory attachment of the employee to an alienated vertical lifeline. Under this case, two employees may be attached to the same lifeline in the hoist-way, unless:

  1. Both of the employees are working atop a false car equipped with guardrails.

  2. The strength of the lifeline is 10,000 pounds, i.e. 5,000 pounds per employee

  3. All other lifeline criteria are required to be met accordingly

The prescribed suggestion

The self-retracting vertical lifelines will limit the free fall distance to the bare minimum. It is also required to see that the lanyard is capable to sustain a dominating tensile load while it is within the fully extended position. In case the offering of minimum distance cannot be prescribed, it requires ensuring that the rip stitch lanyards, and tearing and deforming lanyards, are capable of sustaining the minimum tensile load while sustaining the fully extended position.

Implementation of the fall protection system

The fall protection system can be implemented under the following precondition:

  3. They must not be allowed to free-falling beyond a certain height.

  4. Halt the falling at a certain height.

  5. Restrain the limit of maximum retardation speed.

  7. You will be requiring removing the systems and its components as soon as these have been subjected to fall impact. The things will be reinstalled if a fall protection system inspector checks these and declares fit.

  8. Prompt arrangements for the rescue of a fallen employee will be done. Else. Their self-recovery must have to be ensured by the employer.

  9. The fall protection system will be put to critical investigation prior to each use. The employer needs to guarantee the non-existence of wear, damage and other decomposition. Defective components are thereby removed.

  10. Attachment of false message is absolutely denied

  11. The system allows movement of the worker only as far as the edge proceeds.

There are many workers on the field who are supposed to be at a high area to reach to such places and assist in the construction of this structure. Usually these workers are either working on an entirely open area high above the ground or exactly on the ledge of some building or structure. Hence, safety of these workers is the priority of the employer. In any such case there can be no chance of negligence.
