How Would You Choose a Business Investment Visa Australia?

If you want to start a business in Australia, then you need to apply for a business investment visa in Australia. It is not an easy job to get a business investment visa because you have to be nominated by the State or Territory government agency or Austrade. Apart from that, there are different types of visas available for businessmen, investors, and entrepreneurs. You need to know about such business visas along with their sub-class to get your approval.


Types of Business Investment Visa Australia:

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa

It is a provisional business visa in Australia available with subclass 188. If you want to operate a new or existing business in Australia, then you can apply for this visa. But you need a nomination from an Australian State or Territory government agency, and you can stay up to 4 years 3 months with this visa in Australia. If you want to stay longer then you need to apply for a new visa, and you can apply for permanent residence through this provisional visa. You can include your family members and children in your application.

You have to pay AUD 5,375 as the main applicant, and if you want to add your family members then you have to pay AUD 2,685 for adults and AUD 1,345 for children.

Investor stream

You can apply for the investor stream business investment visa in Australia and you need to invest at least AUD 1.5 million in an Australian State or Territory to apply for this visa. Similar to a provisional visa, you can stay up to 4 years 3 months with this visa in Australia and you should be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency for the same.

You have to pay AUD 5,375 for this investor stream visa. Apart from that, you have to maintain your investment for the next four years.

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa

If you want to invest more than AUD 5 million in any Australian state or territory, then you can apply for this business investment visa in Australia. As it is a provisional visa, you can stay up to 4 years 3 months in Australia with this visa, and you can apply for permanent citizenship during this period. Without a nomination of an Australian State or Territory government agency or Austrade, you cannot apply for this business visa.

The cost of this visa is AUD 7,880 and you need to pay additional charges for your family members if you want to add them to your application.


Business Innovation Extension stream

If you have a provisional business investment visa in Australia, then you can apply for this extension stream. You can stay up to 8 years in Australia by this extension. Due to COVID-19, the Australian government has implemented a new extension rule for businessmen, and they can ask for an extension of up to 8 years with their existing provisional visa. Earlier, they allowed an extension of up to 4 years only.

You have to pay AUD 645 for this extension. But if you do not have a subclass 188 visa then you cannot apply for this extension.

Premium Investor stream

You must be nominated by Austrade to get this business visa in Australia and you have to invest at least AUD 15 million in any Australian state or territory. Apart from that, you have to invest the same amount in an Australian philanthropic activity.

The cost of this visa is AUD 9,455 and you need to pay an additional charge for your children and spouse.

So, it is really very complicated to know about these business visas in Australia and you can get proper guidance from an agency.
