Planning To Revamp Your Home? Conduct A Termite Control Inspection Before You Start!

Our homes need revamping from time to time as our furniture becomes old and the paint falls apart after a specific time period. The renovation also helps to give our apartment a new dimension in terms of appearance. However, before jumping into the decision of revamping their apartment, they must be sure to pay attention to the damages caused by the termites. Termites are wood-eating insects that can severely damage your brand new furniture over a certain time period. Therefore, it is imperative for every homeowner to take the issues related to termites into serious consideration.

Every individual spends a substantial amount of money when it comes to the aspect of renovation. If you do not pay attention to the threat imposed by termites then all your valuable investment on brand new furniture will eventually go to waste. Therefore, it is imperative that you take necessary termite control measures so that your home is protected from these pests.

Some Signs That Can Confirm The Existence Of Termites:

  1. Blisters In Wood

If an individual has wooden flooring in the house and can see the blisters in dark areas and patchy figures then termites might be feeding below them.

  1. Damaged Wood

If one can observe the presence of hollow wood which seems damaged and mostly in honeycomb shape then, that can also be a symbol for the growth of the termites. Sound of emptiness can also be heard through these holes.

  1. Dropped Dry Wood

Little mountains of sand or coffee-like structures if scattered, can also be a symbol of termite.

  1. Swarm Evidence

After the swarming, termites can shed their wings. This can also be a symbol of the presence of termites.

These are the points that an individual must not ignore. If your house is experiencing similar issues then you must seek immediate assistance from termite control. Conduct thorough research and appoint professionals who can help you to eradicate the issues of termite infestation.

There Can Be Two Types Of Methods Involved In Controlling Termite Growth:

  1. Non-chemical Method

As its name suggests, this method does not require any chemicals or insecticides as-

  1. During the initial process of construction, it is imperative that you provide a gap between the soil and the wood which is being used for the purpose of flooring. Proper polishing of wood can also eliminate termite growth.

  2. Treating the soil with some non-chemical substances can also help achieve the target.

  3. The fungus is also used to remove termites.

But unlike chemical methods, it is not very much effective as insecticides and chemicals are not used.

  1. Chemical Method

Here in these methods, different chemicals such as EPA are used to overcome the termite problem. Chemicals used for termite treatment are called termiticides. This method also provides a structural barrier. Professionals are hired for this task as a professional hand is required to work with the termiticides as it can be a risky task. Also, the chemicals used have to be approved before using them. So, some approved chemicals are:

  1. Termite bait

  2. Wood treatment

  3. Building materials mixed with termiticides.

  4. Liquid soil treatment

Termite bait is a famous substance that is also used for termite control. It reduces the impact of insecticides on human life and the environment. Thus, it is eco-friendly in nature compared to the other chemicals. These chemicals are usually applied to the soil with the help of a sprinkler or spray.

So these are the two steps that are followed to get rid of termites. Be sure to consult termite control professionals in order to get immediate and effective results. One should be very careful about termites as they are very toxic and dangerous and should not be ignored at any cost.
