What are cartons?
These are types of boxes that are generally made of paper boards, composite or other materials.
Most often these are shaped as cuboids.
For specialty items, tetrahedrons, squrounds, and other shapes are also available.

Types of Cartons Available

Folding types - These types are usually manufactured in blanks with folding instructions on each sheet, then shipped flat and then arranged by packagers themselves, especially the tray types. Most of them have solid bottoms while some are self erecting. And they are suitable for storing pharmaceuticals, wrapped food, hardware and other merchandise. Sometimes high speed machines are used to assemble, load and set up as well.
Egg holders – These types are designed in a way so that they can hold on eggs properly during transportation. Usually made from molded pulp, recycled papers are shaped in a way that they protect eggs.
Aseptic types - These types are basically made to store liquids like soup, juice, water, milk etc. Made from card board then foiled so as to protect the liquid inside.
Gable top - These are also foil laminated and used for storing liquid items.

There are also certain types that falls under Folding carton types and they are as follows along with their uses.,
Seal end - this includes primary packaging and the content is directly stored inside and both ends are sealed.
Tuck top bottom - These are pre-glued boxes with numerous folded flaps at the bottom.
Sleeve - a tubular box with both ends open and used by slipping over sealed items.
Tuck end - these are glued previously along the dimension with the top and bottom flaps held in position by friction.
Lock corner tray - usually a non-glued tray box and used in bakery’s and garment stores.
Corner beer tray - A paper tray having glued corners on all side but open on top.
Walker lock tray - Fundamentally a non-glued carton with an unattached lid.
Kwikset tray - This can be used as a two-piece box or a single tray. These have previously glued side walls.
